Wuthering Heights

My expectations of how good this book was going to be were way too high. This is likely a very unpopular opinion of this book, however I was not a fan. Wuthering Heights was written by Emily Bronte in the 1840s in England, and, well, you can tell. The vocabulary and writing-style make it extremely challenging to get through this book, hence why you haven’t seen any activity here in almost a month! I was tempted to DNF this book but chose not to because it’s considered a “classic gothic” novel. Well gothic it is indeed. The vibes are dark and toxic and “woe is me”.

It is interesting to compare life in the 1840s to life now; the change in vocabulary, the ways of living and even who you choose to spend your life with.

Ultimately, I gave this read 2 stars out of 5. It was a tough one.
