This book was gifted to me for my birthday last year as a “blind date with a book”. It’s not something that I would normally read, but I actually really enjoyed it.

Don’t Want You Like a Best Friend is a period piece; a romance that takes place in the mid-1800s between two young women, Beth and Gwen, that are in the thick of courting season. These women are parading around town with their parents trying to find a male counterpart that will provide them the safety and security of their future. Beth and Gwen form an unbreakable bond, or so they think.

Then along comes a young man that is interested in pursuing a relationship with Beth, threatening to ruin her and Gwen’s bond.
