Meet Me At The Lake
I truly think I bought this book because of how beautiful the cover is, and boy, am I glad I did.
This is an absolutely beautiful second-chance love story that I don’t know that I will ever be able to fully recover from.
The story follows Fern Brookbanks and Will Baxter, two twenty-something year old’s that meet by chance when Will is painting a mural in the coffee shop that Fern is working at. They spend the entire day together and when they part the next morning, they vow to meet at the docks at the Brookbanks Resort in 1 year.
Fast forward 9 years and Fern is running the Brookbanks Resort after her mother’s sudden death, when Will walks in to the lobby. Can they pick things up where they left off? Is that even an option?
The writing by Carley Fortune in this book is outstanding! I felt every single ounce of heartbreak and tension, overwhelming joy and solitude. I would 100%, without a doubt, recommend this book to anyone that needs a romance recommendation.
