The Forgotten Book Club
The Forgotten Book Club by Kate Storey is a beautifully-written story about grief and loss and the importance of community. It also has an underlying focus on ADHD and mental health.
A year after Grace’s husband, Frank, unexpectedly passes away, the bookshelves in their house long for some attention but Frank was the avid reader, not Grace. When Grace’s daughter becomes concerned that she isn’t socializing, her grandson suggests joining Frank’s old book club at the local bookstore. Upon arrival she realizes that the members enjoy an hour of reading in silence.
When Grace attempts to flee, Annie, a member of the club goes after her and convinces her to return to next week’s meeting. Every meeting after that, Grace finds new ways to make the group bigger and better than ever before, all in memory of her beloved Frank.
This book is perfect for book lovers or those that are in the mood for a heartwarming story.
